2022-23 Micro-credentials application
While you’re in studies (micro-credential, full-time or part-time), your micro-credential student loan doesn’t have to be paid back and the interest is paid for you by the Government of Ontario.
After you complete or withdraw from your studies, your micro-credential student loan will need to be paid back. When you completed your Micro-credential Student Loan Agreement, you agreed that you would begin repayment six months after completing or withdrawing from your micro-credential.
If you decide to continue your studies and not apply for OSAP, you must ensure that your micro-credential student loans are placed into interest-free status so that you don’t have to repay them while in studies. You'll have to complete an application for Continuation of Interest Free Status if you’re not applying for further OSAP assistance.
If you have OSAP loans from full-time or part-time studies, these loans remain repayable while you’re enrolled in a micro-credential.
