Restriction period conditions
If you wish to be considered for OSAP funding in the future, you must meet all of the following conditions during your restriction period.
- Wait for your one-year restriction period to end. Should you re-apply for OSAP funding, the start date of any new OSAP-funded study period must be after your restriction period has ended;
- Keep your existing student loans in good standing; and
- Submit a letter to the financial aid office of the school you plan to attend or to the ministry if you are planning to attend an institution outside of Ontario, explaining the following:
- The circumstances that led to your most recent unsatisfactory academic progress;
- The steps you are taking to ensure future success; and
- Details about your academic and career goals.
Should you re-apply for OSAP funding in the future, your financial aid office will review your file to determine whether you have met these conditions. Upon a successful review, the academic restriction will be removed from your file.
