Details about the minimum academic requirements
- If you are enrolled in a program where you must take and maintain at least 60% of a full course load to be eligible to receive full-time OSAP funding, you must successfully complete at least 60% of what the school considers to be a full course load for your program (or at least 40% if you are recognized by the ministry as having a permanent disability or a persistent or prolonged disability). If your school has a higher academic standard, your school’s academic standard of success will be used to determine if you met the academic progress requirements.
- Courses that are dropped, withdrawn from, failed, in progress, or incomplete at the end of the OSAP approved study period are considered failures for the purposes of determining your academic success during that period, including:
- If you enter into a private arrangement with your school to extend the length of time to complete one or more course(s).
- If you do not actively participate in one or more course(s).
- If you are enrolled in a program at a private vocational institution where you must take a full course load (100%) to be eligible for full-time OSAP funding, you must successfully complete your program by the OSAP approved study period end date.
- If you do not attend for 28 consecutive days as per the Active Participation Policy at your institution, you will be withdrawn from your program.
- If you do not complete your program by the OSAP approved study period end date and enter into a private arrangement with your institution to extend the length of time to complete the course(s), you are considered to have not achieved successful academic progress for that study period.
