Closing and reopening an OSAP application

You can close an OSAP application any time before your enrolment in full-time studies is confirmed by your school. The confirmation of enrolment process generally takes place just before the start of your classes.

If you've closed an application you can request that your financial aid office reopen it so that it will continue processing. It can be reopened any time before the end of your study period. After your study period has ended it cannot be reopened. If you don’t reopen your application and plan to continue your studies, you must ensure that any previous student loans held at the National Student Loans Service Centre (NSLSC) are placed into interest-free status so that you don’t have to repay the loans and interest while you are in school.

Contact your financial aid office for additional assistance.
