Your Funding Status chart tells you the date that your funding will be released and the amounts. However, the most important part is the status! Here are the statuses that you could see:
SAMPLE ONLY:
Released: money has been sent to your bank account via the National Student Loans Service Centre (NSLSC). Any questions at this time should be directed to the NSLSC or your bank.
Ready to be released: everything is done and your money will be released on the dates under “Estimated Date” (see below).
Confirmation of Enrolment required: money is ready to be released but we must wait for you to start classes so that your school can confirm that you are in school. Once that is done, money will be released. Click on the link for details because the process varies by school.
On hold: there are several reasons that your funding could be on hold: you must provide documents first, income verification may be needed (30% Off only), or your application is under review.
No loan option: you requested to get the grants only, not the loan. Remember you can change your mind and get the loan, but there are deadlines. Complete details are provided under “Important Links”. |
How and When your Money is Released
“Estimated Date” is the date the money is scheduled to be in your bank account (if nothing is holding it up). The ministry sends notification to the National Student Loans Service Center (NSLSC) who deposits the funds directly into your bank account. It’s important to keep your bank account information up to date with the NSLSC. If they are unable to deposit the funds directly (e.g., due to invalid account number) a cheque will be mailed to you.
The ministry doesn’t have access to your bank account information. Contact the NSLSC directly if you have a new bank account or if you have any questions about the deposit of your funding:
