The academic year represents the eligibility criteria used to determine your eligibility for OSAP aid, as well as the application that you should use to apply for aid.
The rules for determining an aid program’s academic year are not necessary the same, but are generally determined by the start date of the study period that you require aid. For example, the 2010-2011 academic year for the OSAP Application for Full-Time Students is based on study period starts that fall between August 1, 2010 through to July 31, 2011.
Other OSAP aid programs may define their academic year differently, so you will have to check the application criteria for the aid program you are interested in. In addition, some aid programs, such as the Continuation of Interest-Free Status program, are not academic-year specific so do not have academic-year specific applications.
