Purpose

To provide financial aid to first generation postsecondary students with financial need.

Amount of Aid

The value of the bursary will be determined by your school and will not exceed the amount of financial need you have.

Who Can Get This Aid

First generation students studying at a public Ontario college or university are considered for this bursary. A first generation student is defined as a student whose parents have not participated in postsecondary studies. Your school may have additional eligibility requirements. You must meet Ontario residency requirements and demonstrate financial need as determined by your school. You do not need to be OSAP eligible to receive a First Generation Bursary.

How to Apply

You must apply for the bursary through the Financial Aid Office at your college or university. Each school is responsible for establishing an application process and setting deadlines for applications. Please contact the Financial Aid Office at your school for details.

How You Get Your Aid

The aid is typically administered by cheque from the Financial Aid Office directly to the student.
