FELLOWSHIPS FOR STUDYING IN FRENCH
FFSF 2011-2012 - HIGH SCHOOL Student Average Calculation
For students who will be attending University, use 6 highest Grade 12 marks to determine student’s average.
For students who will be attending College, use the following method:
- All Grade 12 marks must be used in the calculation, (maximum of six marks)
- If 6 Grade 12 marks are not available, top up with highest marks from Grade 11
- The six marks used must be from six different subject matters
For example: Student who will be attending College has completed two grade 12 credits
Average is calculated using the following marks:
88% English Grade 12
65% Math Grade 12
72% Geography Grade 11
89% History Grade 11
72% Art Grade 11
91% Social Studies Grade 11
79.5% Student’s Average
Note: Student had achieved an 89% in Grade 11 Math, however, the mark for Grade 12 Math must be used, even if lower, and duplicate subjects cannot be used.
Co-op Mark
If a subject has a Co-op and Class component, add the marks from both and divide by two to determine the average. Only 2 subjects with a Co-op component should be considered in the average calculation.
Note: The deadline to submit the FFSF application is June 10, 2011. Interim marks will be used by an official at the secondary institution to calculate the average. Should the student disagree with the average calculation, the Ministry will request that a copy of the interim marks used to complete the calculation be provided for review. FINAL MARKS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED IN THE REVIEW PROCESS.
