Repaying

Repaying your OSAP Loans

While you are in study full-time, the provincial and federal governments pay the interest on your student loans. Once you've finished your studies, it will be time to repay your OSAP loans. Find out more about when and how to repay. You can also estimate what your monthly payments will be after school using the repayment estimator.

Student loans and overpayments must be repaid. When you negotiate your student loans you agree to certain repayment responsibilities.

OSAP student loans, unlike many other loan types, come with a variety of assistance to help you repay them. Eligible students can have a portion of their loan paid down through the Ontario Student Opportunity Grant.

While you are in repayment, the government also provides assistance to help with repaying your loans if you’re having trouble making your monthly payments.
